IMPORTANT UPDATE:
⚠️ Chrome Crashing During Meetings (Chrome v138)
We’re aware of a new issue causing Chrome and Edge tabs to crash during video meetings on our platform. This began after the latest update to Chromium (version 138) — the engine that powers both Chrome and Edge — introduced a bug in the browser itself.
To be clear, the crash is happening in the browser — not in our app or video platform.
Importantly, this issue does not affect Google Meet. While both platforms use similar underlying technologies, the implementations differ, and only our platform is currently impacted by this Chromium bug.
Recommended Workaround
We recommend that meeting hosts install and use the desktop app (Mac or Windows) to join meetings until further notice.
Meeting participants will automatically be prompted to install and launch the desktop app when joining a meeting from Chrome.
If your white-label includes desktop apps, your configuration already supports seamless installation.
To install the desktop app:
Navigate to your account dashboard
Click the menu at the top right and select Download apps
Click the download link for your operating system (Windows or Mac)
What We’re Doing
We’ve submitted a bug report to the Chromium team and are actively collaborating with them to investigate and resolve the issue.
In the meantime, you can help by submitting crash reports to Chromium — each report increases visibility and helps prioritize a fix. You can easily do this by clicking the ‘Send feedback’ button on the crash page.
We understand how disruptive this can be and truly appreciate your patience and support as we work toward a resolution. We’ll continue to provide updates as soon as new information becomes available.
This issue affects users on Chrome v138 only. If you have any questions or need support, please open a ticket from the support portal.
Other Video Freezing Issues
We are also tracking two additional video freezing issues that have recently been reported. These have been captured, and our development team is actively working to resolve them.
We will be deploying a hotfix for these issues as soon as it is ready.
Release Notes:
V2.6.346 Deployed Jul 11, 2025
Fixes
We recently identified and resolved a bug in our core video logic that was causing video to freeze in certain scenarios. This issue fell short of the high standards we set for our software quality. We’ve taken this seriously, and in addition to fixing the bug, we’ve strengthened our testing processes to help prevent similar issues in the future.
Video in left sidebar frozen during screen sharing: Fixed an issue where the video in the left sidebar could freeze while screen sharing was active.
Host video lost after switching devices: Fixed an issue where if a host joined a meeting from a second device or browser (using the same account), other participants could no longer receive the host’s video.
Participant video freezing: Fixed an issue where a participant’s video would sometimes freeze for others in the same meeting.
FOR PARTNERS ONLY
Release Notes:
V2.6.346 Deployed Jul 11, 2025
Improvements
New: Optional email/password login for SSO domains: Partners can now allow specific companies under an SSO-enabled domain to log in using email and password instead of SSO. This is useful for customers who don’t have access to an SSO-compatible account. Reseller admins can see which companies have this setting enabled in theadmin UI ‘General’ section of an individual company.
New: Support for custom Customer IDs on companies: Partners can now assign a Customer ID to a company - either via the admin UI or API. The Customer ID does not need to be unique to a company, so this is useful for identifying, organzing and grouping companies. The Customer ID is also included in reporting for billing purposes.
Security Fix: Active sessions now expire after password change: Improved account security by ensuring all active sessions are logged out when a user changes their password. This prevents unauthorized access from previously active sessions and aligns with standard security best practices.
Desktop apps rolling out version 8.0.1: We’re rolling out desktop app version 8.0.1 to all partners today. Version 8.0.0 introduced an upgrade to Electron 32.2.4 (Chromium 128.0) for improved performance and compatibility. Version 8.0.1 includes additional security updates via npm package upgrades.
Country code and time zone added to Host API: The Host API now supports setting and retrieving country_code (ISO two-letter format) and time_zone (TZ database format) via the /create, /update, and /fetch endpoints. These values are also reflected in the user's account settings.
