The address book will now also be accessible in the top menu bar with the label ‘Contacts’ and ‘Settings’ will move to the hamburger menu (right-hand side of the dashboard)
As we are thinking forward about how people are using our service and communicating with each other generally, we notice a need to allow users to connect with each other in different ways. We’ve moved ‘Contacts’ (aka ‘Address Book’) to be a main button accessible from the dashboard as we’ll be adding options to individual contacts that will allow a user to connect directly with that person via chat, video or audio call.
The company icon on the far left will still bring users to the dashboard but will be able to be customized for your own Whitelabel instance to link users to an external website of your choice.
Note: Only those accounts with the ‘My Team’, ‘Webinar’ and ‘Drive’ features in their subscription will see those buttons in the menu bar
Add an edit button to individual contacts in the address book. Previously, the whole row could be clicked to edit a contact. This is the first step in allowing us to add options to the contact ‘card’ to meet, chat or call a person or group by searching for them in your address book and we’ll be able to add more details about the person or group also.
Refresh data when computer wakes up - When the computer is turned off/sleeping, and a New message is sent or a New meeting is scheduled for Today, we don’t see those updates when we turn ON the computer.
Show file name in chat toast when a document is shared during a meeting
Improvements to mobile app landing ux
Auto focus to “access code”
Enter key triggers “join” button (both physical and virtual keyboard)
Changes in “access code” removes the error message (i.e. “invalid code”)
Support theme detection/selection in iOS mobile app
Make mobile status bar legible
Update iOS video tiles layout with less buffer delay
Accessibility
Use semantic HTML on settings
The roles without HTML equivalents, such as presentation, toolbar and tooltip roles, provide information on the document structure to assistive technologies such as screen readers as equivalent native HTML tags are not available.
Allow "esc” to dismiss modal, card, pop up menu, etc.
Anyone with the ‘dial-out’ feature will be able to call to a contact by clicking on a phone icon next to their name in the ‘add participant’ panel during a meeting. Note that for anyone with the dial-out feature they will no longer be able to send an email invite. This will be added later. Users can still copy the meeting details easily using the copy button at the top of the sidebar and send via their preferred method.
