2023 APR 14th Release Notes v2.6.292

V2.6.292

Release Notes:

Desktop app 'deep-linking'

We have created three different settings that are available depending on the needs of your business. Please reach out to the team if you would like to change this setting for your instance.

  • Auto-launch app the desktop app ONLY if the browser is ‘non-Chromium’: Since Safari and Firefox don't yet support the VP9 video codec, this will help users join using the desktop app and have a better video experience. Those using Chrome or Edge will have no change to their experience. We’re using this option with our Callbridge service as it is one of our main differentiators that participants don't need to download anything to join a meeting.

  • ALWAYS Auto-launch the desktop app in ALL browsers: This is the best option if you have a large number of customers who are not using Chrome or Edge and prefer all users to have the same experience.

  • NEVER Auto-launch the desktop app: This will be the default and is the best option if you want a pure browser-based experience for your customer base.

Emojis on Desktop/Web App

We’ve added an emoji picker to the chat for meetings and secure messaging on the desktop web app and desktop native apps.

UX Enhancements

  • Allow iOS mobile app users to navigate through the app using swipe left/right (apart from when in an actual meeting). For example, previously, if a user opened the iOS app and chose to join a meeting using the access code, they would need to quit the app and re-open it if they changed their mind and wanted to log in. Now users can easily swipe back to return to the first screen.

  • Allow the host to meet with participants before admitting them into the meeting. This is useful to screen callers or gather details from participants before they join the meeting. In the use case of a telehealth appointment, an admin or nurse can check in with a patient before the actual meeting begins with a doctor.

Bug Fixes

  • Company admin can ignore the host limit: Issue fixed where when the company admin adds a new Host exceeding the Host limit for that company, they see an error message but the Host is still added.
