iotum has developed a new softphone for partners, now in beta. It's built to work within your white-label environment so your customers get a seamless calling experience. Calling & Softphone


Make a Call
You can now make calls directly from the phone on your computer or mobile device. Supported on Windows, Mac, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, iOS, and Android.

Manage Notifications

  • Do Not Disturb Mute all notifications for a set period of time using the Do Not Disturb option in the app menu. Choose from preset durations or set a custom date and time for notifications to resume.

  • On Call and In Meeting Presence Your presence status now automatically updates to reflect when you are on a call or in a meeting, so others can see your availability in real time.

Voicemail

Access your voicemails from the Voicemails tab in the Calls section. Expand a voicemail to play it, save it, delete it, or call the person back.

SMS

Mobile — iOS

  • Call from the iOS Phone App Calls made through the phone are now recorded in your iOS native phone app's call history. Tap any of these calls in your iPhone's recent calls list to call them back directly through the phone app. (V2.6.365)

  • Fixed an issue where the iOS app was cutting audio from other applications on startup. (V2.6.365)

  • Improved CallKit integration for more reliable call handling from the iOS system UI. (V2.6.365)






Chats

The chat experience has received a significant update this release, with many new features and refinements.


React to a Message
Add emoji reactions to any chat message using the message context menu. (V2.6.364)

Edit a Message
Edit a message you have already sent directly from the message context menu. Press the up arrow key in an empty compose box to quickly edit your last message. Edited messages are marked to indicate they have been changed. (V2.6.364)

Message Context Menu
A hover toolbar and right-click context menu now provide quick access to reactions, edits, forwarding, copying, and deleting messages. (V2.6.364)

Notification Settings per Conversation
Control notifications for individual conversations. Choose between All messages, Mentions only, or Mute for a set duration directly from the bell icon within any conversation. (V2.6.364)


Code Snippets and Markdown Support

Messages now support code snippets with syntax highlighting, making it easier to share and read code in chat. (V2.6.364)


Additional updates

  • Chat panel is now resizable on desktop — drag the divider to give yourself more or less chat space. (V2.6.364)

  • Inline link preview on hover — When using the app as an installed web app (PWA), link URLs now appear as a tooltip when you hover over them. (V2.6.364)

  • Pasting a URL over selected text now automatically wraps it as a markdown link. (V2.6.364)

  • Fixed a bug where image attachments could not be sent in Firefox. (V2.6.365)






Notifications & Badges

  • App icon badges are now supported on iOS and Android, showing counts for missed calls, unread voicemails, and unread chat messages. (V2.6.365)

  • Desktop app notification sound has been updated (requires an update to the desktop app.Reach out to the team for more details). (V2.6.365)

  • Web app badge — The browser tab and web app icon now show an unread count badge. (V2.6.364)






Contacts

  • Phone contacts can now be imported and synced on iOS and Android. (V2.6.365)





Video Conferencing

  • Improved the agenda section with rich text formatting for scheduled meetings and webinars. (V2.6.364)

  • Updated the webinar summary and confirmation page UI. (V2.6.364)

  • You can now zoom in on a shared screen during meetings for a closer look at content being presented. (V2.6.365)




UX/UI Enhancements

  • An experimental ‘Dark mode’ is now available for preview. This can be enabled in your settings: …conf/settings/general/account_settings (V2.6.364)




Desktop App

  • The desktop app will now auto-reload when a new version is deployed and you've been inactive, so you're always on the latest version without manual restarts. (V2.6.365)

  • Fixed an issue where SSO users were not being redirected back to the desktop app after signing in. (V2.6.365)





Known Issues in V2.6.365 - Phone and Chat

We are aware of the following issues and are actively working to resolve them in the next update.

Calling

  • Swap with two incoming calls: Using the Swap button when two calls are incoming simultaneously may unexpectedly end both calls.

  • No 3-way calling on iOS: Merging calls into a conference on iOS is not yet supported.

  • No audio on some mobile data networks: Calls may not connect audio properly on certain mobile carrier networks. Wi-Fi calling is recommended in the meantime.

  • Switch devices banner: There is a known display issue with the Active Call Banner when moving a call between devices and ending the call from the switched device.

  • UX improvements coming: Additional polish to call transfer, hold, and unhold flows is planned for the next release.

Notifications & Messaging

  • Desktop app notifications sometimes not working: Push notifications on the desktop app may intermittently fail to appear.

  • Messages visible in Inbox preview but not in chat panel: When opening the desktop app fresh (e.g. first thing in the morning), some new messages may appear in the Inbox preview but not load in the chat panel. Reloading the app resolves this.

Mobile

  • iOS app may continue ringing after a call is answered on another device: In some cases, the iOS app does not stop ringing when the call is picked up elsewhere.

  • Badge count updates on mobile (especially iOS): App icon badge counts may not always reflect the correct unread/missed count immediately.

Desktop

  • Windows desktop app: We are aware of outstanding issues on Windows and are working through them.

  • Notifications sometimes not working: Push notifications on the desktop app may intermittently fail to appear. Restarting the desktop app will resolve most issues.

Chat

  • Scrolling up in chat: Scrolling through chat history needs performance and behaviour improvements, which are coming in a future update.

  • Starting a video meeting from a chat room - other participants will not receive a push notification
